I bought a battered Bottega Veneta bag ( preloved) - Rachel has transformed it ! She is brilliant - highly recommend, my bag looks amazing

Rachel refurbished a beloved bag for me. She did an absolutely amazing job and went over and above to make it look wonderful. She also managed to maintain the ‘vintage’ look. I have no doubt that I will be asking Rachel to do more work for me in future. She is fantastic at what she does.

Some years ago my much loved leather jacket had a disagreement with a piece of steel in the engine room on M.V. Balmoral. From then on it had an ugly tear that was 'repaired' with leather glue. The glue discoloured the finish and had a glossy appearance that didn't flex. It looked horrible, turning a lovely soft and well worn jacket of great sentimental value into something that was only suitable for gardening.

I made various attempts to get it repaired but all were met with a slightly off hand response and a 'pay now, send it to us and we will try and fix it - if and when we can' approach. I gave up. The jacket stayed in the wardrobe on death row.

Before consigning my old friend to gardening duty I had one last try at saving it. After more failed attempts to find a repairer who wasn't franchised or in some distant part of the country, I tried Keep Studio in Clevedon .... and struck gold. Rachel immediately understood what I wanted, that the jacket had many stories to tell and that I didn't want my old friend sitting unloved at the back of a cupboard. Rather than a 'send it to us and we will get round to it', her response was 'bring it over and lets have a look'.

An hour later it was being lovingly inspected, a very reasonable price agreed and while no promises were made, there seemed to be a chance it could be fixed, but would never be perfect. The mark where a name sticker had been attached to me during a long forgotten meeting was also inspected - no words said about the desecration of a lovely jacket - and that was included as part of the work required, along with various other scuffs and dings.

Four days later I got a call to say it was ready, but wasn't 'as good as had been hoped'. I prepared for the worst and went to collect. Then I saw the repair.

Actually, I couldn't see it. Eventually with very close inspection there was a slight mark and a very small bump by the pocket. The leather had been recoloured and an internal patch applied, the rip had been filled and unless you knew where to look and were familiar with the texture, it was invisible.

For no additional cost the sticker mark had been removed, ( OK, sorry, it won't happen again - I promise ) various other niggles sorted out, advice given on feeding the leather to preserve it and also a good humoured suggestion about not letting other people put stickers on me - ever ! If this job was 'not as good as hoped' then a good job must be a return to showroom condition.

So despite an argument with a large marine diesel engine, my old friend is back in daily use and only Rachel and I will ever know the indignities it has suffered. My new resolve is to try and treat it with the care it deserves and the recommended leather treatment is on the kitchen table waiting for the first application.

Verdict:

One very happy and satisfied customer. Good price, beautiful job, and a friendly and informative visit - and best of all no visible signs of the abuse the poor jacket has suffered in the past 40 years !

I brought a very well used and beloved leather bag into be fixed.
I nearly opted to fix it myself and I’m so glad I didn’t.
Rachel was able to fix it perfectly and in a way that looks just like the original stitching. It’s much sturdier and looks so much better after she also conditioned it. When I went to collect it she also gave me some tips on how to look after it and future proof it, which was much appreciated. It’s great to go to someone who clearly knows their craft and has such great talent for it. I would definitely recommend coming here.
